   FARMINGTON, N.M. (UMNS) â A movie based on a United Methodist couple was
   number one at the box office this weekend. Kim and Krickitt Carpenter said
   their faith and a vow they made before God kept them together despite a
   serious accident that wiped out Krickittâs memory of her husband.

Lake Junaluska gets âgreenâ grant

   LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. (UMNS) â Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center,
   part of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church, has
   received a $293,240 federal grant to improve its energy efficiency. The
   retreat center plans to use the grant, awarded through the American Recovery
   and Reinvestment Act, to purchase new energy-efficient heating and cooling
   units. Jack Ewing, Lake Junaluskaâs executive director and CEO, estimates
   the purchases will save the retreat center $72,000 in energy costs.

Wesleyan pilgrimage planned

   NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) â The United Methodist Board of Discipleship is
   organizing a 10-day Wesleyan Pilgrimage in England to help clergy and lay
   leaders to understand the missional nature of Methodism practiced by John
   and Charles Wesley. The pilgrimage is scheduled for Oct. 4-14. Discounts are
   available with early registration, and scholarships are available for 20
   provisional elders and deacons.
