Worldwide Faith News is a data base of full text official news releases and other documents, including policy statements, from the news offices of national and world faith groups.  This collection indexes more than 18,000 documents, including posts in Français, Español, Deutsch

The resources of Worldwide Faith News are open to all without charge. Permission to reproduce, copy or quote all documents has been granted by posting organizations Attribution is appreciated by the posting organizations.  Each release is the responsibility of the posting organization, and does not necessarily represent positions or policies of WFN.ORG or other participating faith groups.

WFN is a project of the National Council of Churches USA, through the Communication Commission.  It was was designed in consultation with journalists, journalism school faculty, faith group news directors and participating faith groups.

An historical note: Worldwide Faith News was opened on the Internet on December 24, 1995 with a 'nod' to a historical event in human communication on that date in 1906

In Memory of Michael de Beer - Michael de Beer, the technical consultant responsible for the design of WFN passed away at age 33,  August 6, 2006.
