New York - His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios presided today at the Mega

Gerasimos of San Francisco in St. Paul's Chapel of the Archdiocese. The
ceremony was attended by several hierarchs, the Consul General of Greece
Katerina Boura, Vice Chairman of the Archdiocesan Council Michael
Jaharis, President of the Presbyters Council Rev. Fr. James Moulketis,
the brother and sister-in law of Metropolitan Gerasimos Mr. & Mrs. Peter
Michaleas, representatives from the senior class of Holy Cross School of
Theology, and family and friends including members of the Archdiocesan

The Mega Minima was read, followed by the reading and signing of the
acknowledgement of acceptance by Metropolitan Gerasimos while Archbishop
Demetrios signed the Mega Minima.

Archbishop Demetrios then offered warm remarks applauding the many years
of service and dedication to the church by Metropolitan Gerasimos. He
praised the Metropolis of San Francisco and its strong and dynamic clergy
and laity. He continued by wishing Metropolitan Gerasimos many years of
both a qualitative and quantitative growth of his ministry. Archbishop
Demetrios closed his remarks by conveying the blessings and prayers of
the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Eparchial Synod coupled with the full
and continuous support by all in his new ministry.

Metropolitan Gerasimos responded warmly thanking His All Holiness
